Discover Trails will be an interactive trail network in BC’s parks that create powerful lifelong learning, healthier lifestyles, cultural connections and stewards for the future.
The Story Trail in Tsútswecw Provincial Park, in the traditional territory of the Secwepemc people, is the first trail in the network, opening in June 2019. It is an interpretive trail that tells the story of the native plants and landscape features in the area through the voices of students from Chase Secondary School's Secwépemctsin language class.
In 2015 I bought myself a camera and decided to get out in the wilderness away from cell/internet range. As I slowed down and watched and listened, a whole new world appeared. The wilderness and its wild animals had many lessons for me. Nature nourishes and teaches us patience. Nothing in nature is rushed. It is divine timing: everything happens when it’s time.”
