Discover Trails will be an interactive trail network in BC’s parks that create powerful lifelong learning, healthier lifestyles, cultural connections and stewards for the future.
The Story Trail in Tsútswecw Provincial Park, in the traditional territory of the Secwepemc people, is the first trail in the network, opening in June 2019. It is an interpretive trail that tells the story of the native plants and landscape features in the area through the voices of students from Chase Secondary School's Secwépemctsin language class.
BC's parks are quite simply wonders. They are places of majesty and beauty. They are gathering places for families and communities. They are engines of our economy in attracting millions of tourists to our province. And they are sanctuaries to millions of plants and animals, creating the biodiversity that gives British Columbians the clean air and clean water so vital to our healthy existence.”
