Vancouver, BC – What if a lottery ticket could take you to Haida Gwaii, through the Rockies, or into the mountains of Whistler, all while helping protect the incredible nature that makes British Columbia home?
Today, BC Parks Foundation is launching its first-ever lottery, “Win for the Wild.” British Columbians have the chance to win unforgettable experiences while supporting conservation and opportunities for people to experience, learn about, and connect with nature. Prizes worth over $40,000 have been made possible with support from a range of partners and businesses across BC.
The grand prize is an extraordinary Haida Gwaii experience for two, valued at over $20,000. The trip includes return flights from Vancouver, a three-night Langara Lodge fishing adventure, and four nights at Haida House beachfront cabins, along with a cultural experience in Xaayda Gwaay Haida Gwaii—Xaayda Gwaay is the Haida name for the islands.
Other prizes include:
- A Rocky Mountaineer adventure through the Canadian Rockies
- A luxury Whistler getaway
- A Sporting Life x Coleman outdoor gear package
- A Big White winter getaway
Each prize is connected to a part of British Columbia where BC Parks Foundation and the BC Conservation Fund support work in parks and protected areas, from Haida Gwaii to the Rockies, Whistler, and the Okanagan.

“British Columbia is home to some of the most beautiful places on Earth, and this lottery is a chance to experience them and help care for them at the same time,” says Andy Day, CEO of BC Parks Foundation. “The prizes are incredible. You could be fishing in Haida Gwaii, travelling through the Rockies, or heading off on a mountain getaway, all while helping protect nature and connect more people with it. That’s a pretty amazing ticket.”
For grand prize partner Haida Enterprise Corporation (HaiCo), Win for the Wild is also an opportunity to welcome visitors to Xaayda Gwaay Haida Gwaii and share what makes the islands so special.
“Our tourism properties, including Haida House, are proudly owned by the XaaydaGa Haida people,” says Leticia Hill, CEO of Haida Enterprise Corporation (HaiCo). “We are honoured to welcome the Win for the Wild grand-prize winners to Xaayda Gwaay Haida Gwaii and share the culture, landscapes, and hospitality that make our islands unique. Haida House invites visitors to slow down, connect with the land and ocean, and experience the warmth of Haida hospitality in one of the most remarkable places on Earth.”
Proceeds from the lottery will support BC Parks Foundation’s work, helping protect important lands, waters, and wildlife, care for parks and natural spaces, and create more opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to experience, understand, and care for nature.
