In search of inspiration for BC Parks Foundation’s new apparel line, Manager of Brand Products & Marketing Farn Mirza made his way to Mount Seymour Park—but not for a hike or a ski.
Instead, he was plumbing the physical archives of BC Parks merchandise, envisioning retro designs aimed at leveraging the tastes and nostalgia of local park enthusiasts.
When he stumbled upon sheets of 1980s stickers featuring colourful iconic symbols—a Douglas fir tree, an otter, a tent—he felt a surge of creativity.
“There's a reason we use the term ‘happy camper’ so much, and why it resonates so deeply,” says Farn. “We all know that feeling.”
And he’s right; we do.
