The Spark Fund Empowers Birds Canada To Combine Recreation with Conservation
Nature has a way of inspiring people to create communities centered around its protection. Birds Canada is one of those communities. Their mission is to drive action to increase the understanding, appreciation, and conservation of birds in Canada. Together with their supporters, they see themselves as Canada’s voice for birds.
It's that shared goal that brought together a group of strangers from all parts of Vancouver early on a Monday morning in August. They were there to receive education about the importance of birds to BC's ecology and go on an adventure to spot some local birds in the area.
As our newest Spark Fund recipient, Birds Canada will be able to increase the number of activities they do that directly aid the conservation of birds. They will also be able to engage more communities and build an awareness of the significance of birds.
Through the Spark Fund, the BC Parks Foundation can support organizations that are dedicated to protecting BC and educating people about the importance of the life it holds. The important work of safeguarding our province requires passionate participation and collaboration through exciting partnership like this.

“In 2015 I bought myself a camera and decided to get out in the wilderness away from cell/internet range. As I slowed down and watched and listened, a whole new world appeared. The wilderness and its wild animals had many lessons for me. Nature nourishes and teaches us patience. Nothing in nature is rushed. It is divine timing: everything happens when it’s time.
