Empowering Nature Research: Squamish Watershed Society's Dynamic Approach!
The Squamish River Watershed Society is on a mission to bring the thrill of nature education and observation to everyone. Through dynamic, hands-on nature experiences for families, they're turning communities into active participants in exciting community science initiatives.
Alongside organizing nature excursions, they're orchestrating family-friendly adventures to help uncover the mysteries of the Atl'ka7tsem Howe Sound Biosphere Region. The valuable data collected on these adventures is key to unlocking the wonders of Canada's 19th UNESCO biosphere Region!
From the mesmerizing spectacle of salmon spawning to the excitement of identifying diverse bird species, their programs include guided walks to thrilling and educational scavenger hunts for kids.
The Squamish Watershed Society is igniting a passion for nature by uniting communities, fostering shared learning, and conducting side-by-side nature observations. They're not just ensuring the well-being of nature; they're passing on a legacy of excitement and discovery to the next generation.
The work of the Squamish River Watershed Society is supported by the Spark Grant. The mission of the Spark Grant is to enable groups to facilitate outdoor experiences and promote stewardship through nature observations. The Squamish River Watershed Society is a shining example of a group actively achieving these goals!
